AIGA Chicago

Adding a ‘human touch’ to UX event graphics.

For its lecture on human understanding in User Experience Design, Chicago’s chapter of AIGA enlisted Malt to bring life to the event’s graphics. With tongue-in-cheek visual references and a stripped down aesthetic, we were able to create a slew of materials to support the event, “Think Like People: How to Use Empathy in Design.” The result was a bold slate of collateral that was used to promote the lecture, as well as to adorn items at the event.

The event raised an essential question: “It’s important to work towards designing with ‘empathy’ in User Experience Design, but how do we get there?” With this approach in mind, we created graphics that emphasized the human experience in a subset of design often distilled down to just 1s and 0s.
