Malt Celebrates 10 Years.
Recently, Malt celebrated 10 years as a studio.
Ten years of incredible partnerships, amazing clients, endless learning and humbling growth. What began as a leap of faith back in 2012, after a stockpile of ‘too much freelance work’ outside of my 9-to-5, has evolved into a rewarding career. When I first set out, I ran the numbers and figured I could probably make it five – maybe six – months managing my own client projects as a design practice. I figured, if it didn’t pan out, I could always go back to another studio or agency in town. But when those first few months came and went, I was determined to build on the momentum.
A decade, a full studio buildout, hundreds of design projects, and an impossible-to-count-amount-of-coffee-mugs later, Malt is still making.
The past ten years have awarded me creative challenges across nearly every industry–from Chicago to around the globe; collaborations with some incredibly talented peers, clients and friends; a shift in focus to more environmentally- and socially-conscious partnerships; and best of all: some truly fulfilling work.
I’m super humbled. I’m beyond grateful. And I can’t wait to see what the next ten years have in store. Cheers!
